Before you understand the truth of emptiness you think you must make some special effort to achieve something. This is hitting the cart to make the horse go. The harder we hit the cart the madder we get, because we can’t get anywhere.
Yes, it seems in our society the mind is conditioned to put forth a great amount of effort in order to 'achieve' something. However, I feel this is not the case in the simplicity of meditation. I find the stillness of meditation is very simple and effortless; here all thought of effort or achievement is abandoned and left behind. I feel the Vast Mind is never achieved and it need not be sought after because it is already present within us.
