Attracting Art Ideas

My artwork, especially the fantasy work, is developed out of spontaneous feeling tones. A figure or a scene flashes across the palace of mind and insatiable curiosity draws me into a new adventure. This quality of being in the creative mode attracts great energy to it.

Every new painting is in the womb of this new energy. I believe every self or person is an energy idea. This idea yearns to be expressed. God also yearns to know more about God through this life or expressed idea.

Rarely does the meaning or teaching of a new painting make itself known to me until after it is finished. Then, often it will startle me with, “Oh, that’s what that means!”

DAY 5

Day 5

I thought the female figure in the lower left corner of the painting was just a compositional component. But when I asked her what her function was, she replied, “Well Jim, I’m here to remind you that the mind in the hands of a meditative master can be a garden of ever changing wonders or, in the hands of a blind fool, a nightmare of confusion, self loathing, hate and fear. You are always creating by your thoughts and beliefs. The point of power is always now. Eternal vigilance is the price of peace.

DAY 4

In this symbol the female face is wearing the crest upon her headdress of the flower of
meditation. From this mind set, creation duplicates innovative intentions and solutions of the highest order. Without the faith which places the task in God’s hands our intentions are usually burdened with the belief that we have to do everything by ourselves, setting into motion opposing situations that can tear us apart. We are learning not to compete with the outside world but to cooperate with the infallible inner laws of creation.

DAY 3

The symbols of the females mean inspired thoughts or flashes of intuition that contain energy of an enormous quality. In religious mythology they are sometimes represented as angels or in Greek mythology, winged footed Hermes and so on.

Great art or great innovative ideas are always multidimensional in scope.

Einstein’s concept of simultaneous time was one of these flashes.

DAY 2

The sleeping child upon the warm earth sphere, is the symbol of the
multi-dimensional priest, mature and ever expanding. Great illumination comes from a profound innocence. This faith is as simple as a seed or as innocent as a trusting child.

Spiritual trust lays in the unshakable truth that all life is good.

Painting 2 - DAY 1

I usually create my paintings first by intuition or the curiosity of a set of symbols in my
mind’s eye. After the painting is completed I start to realize the meaning of the symbols.

The drawing of the priest with butterfly wings is my symbol of the power and poise of our inner oracle. The self that is beyond the limits of our time and space thinking.

This priest is the mediator between our duality formed personalities and our unified awareness. Unity is absolute value or love. Spiritual unity is the only reality that makes life possible.

HIGHER CONSCIOUSNESS 24X30

DAY 7

This painting completes the cycle of a vision, and the intention to bring that vision into physical reality with its own life force and purpose. The purity of this painting really pleases me; I can hear the thunder of the huge breaking wave. I am exhilarated by the aqua blue sea, glassed off in front of it. The balance, aim and focus of the meditator has elevation and mystery. The pot of gold signifies the absolute value of the meditator’s desire. All is as it should be.

I agree with the statement made by U.S. Anderson where he writes: As individuals in this great God seeking drama we know as life, we have but two main choices: Love or suffer!

Every moment of every day we are engaged in the spiritual force of creating. We hope, plan, consider, desire, act, speak, fear, use our will, love, hate are joyful, embittered – always we are creating. There is only one force in the entire universe; it creates all things according to what we conceive, accept, and allow.

DAY 6

This composition please me; all the elements I desire are in place.

We are living in the dawn of a new realization. It often frightens us that we can be so powerful, that we can create our own lives the way we want them to be. This power we possess requires nothing but the responsibility of not allowing negative thoughts to take root in our subconscious belief systems. “As you believe so shall it be.”

Let our intentions only explore the possibilities of a rich full life.

DAY 5 - TRANSFORMATION

Here I’m developing a symbol of the incubation period. Once the intention or idea is requested in the universal mind, like a child in the womb, the intention is distilled in faith and at the perfect time it is translated into physical reality. Only the universal mind knows how to bring one’s intention into being with all the people, places, and circumstances perfectly coordinated.

DAY 4

In the painting, the sailing craft is the mediator’s intention of abundance, peace, and joy.
Everything seems to arrive in waves, or cycles of experience. The vast mind is like the
measureless sea from which we call forth our waves of experience by our desires, thoughts, and beliefs. Through right thinking we create waves in the universal mind that we experience as abundance, peace, and joy - not fear, poverty and hate. Thus we create our own destinies.

DAY 3

Today I’m developing the headset and heart helm symbols. If our inner vision is clear, and our faith relentless, we will be guided to the shore of our accomplishment and achieve our intent.

With the vast mind of “all there is” at the helm we can never fail.

DAY 2

I’m isolating components and developing their purpose and functions.
The female mediator is the star of this movie. Her hypnotic focus is upon establishing the reality of abundance in her minds eye. What we predominantly focus upon with passionate intent is what we will experience in our lives. Mind is the only mover in the universe. Her head piece symbolizes “holding the thought of cornucopia or abundance.
The two transparent balls of light she holds in her hands symbolize the balancing of the left side of the brain which deals with time and space. And the right side of her brain deals with pure intuition.

DAY 1

I’m working with a new painting idea; the painting is called the Law of Attraction. It’s sort of like making a movie, using thumbnail sketches to find the composition and symbol elements that I want to use to express this idea. The evolution of the whole process will be spread out over a seven day cycle.

Update

I’ve set a goal for myself that in the next seven days I will document on my blog the different stages that I go through with a new fantasy painting. I’ll explain the meaning of the symbols in the painting, there’ll be sketches showing how I develop the overall concept as well as my thoughts as I progress through to the completion. This idea sounded fun to me and I hope it’ll be of interest to you as well.
